Looking Back

For some of you, you might know that I spend around 99% of my holiday time at home. What do I do at home?? Well looking back at old stuff from the old stash of CDs that was for my old home computer back-up (in case of any break down) that date back as far as 2002. Not long ago? Can’t imagine what I was doing and thinking then.

I found stack of emails that I have saved to my computer back then. Remember back at the days, with just 4Mb of storage in yahoo mail will give you a reaction of “Wow that is BIG!”

I also found really cool music that was the hip of those days. Singles like Nickelback’s - Too Bad, P!nk’s -Don't Let Me Get Me, 4 hero’s - les fleurs and etc. are some of the music I downloaded online via Bear Share, Kazaa (P2P share file programs)(look like I have a long pirate history). Another fact to remember is that I was on dial-up which is at average running on 28.8kb/s! That’s SLOW compare to now which I’m connected to the internet via 1.5mb/s streamyx connection! I remembered that I used to switch on the computer at night and switch it off the next morning before I go to school. Well, those were the days!!

I’m really into photography now. And also still day dreaming on getting a DSLR which is moon to earth away form my current budget!! For me to get just a normal camera then was beyond. Remember those days where Digital Photography was new and getting you hands on a camera with 1Mega pixels (MP) will cost you around RM1500! 1 Mega Pixel (MP), compare to 6MP now which cost not more than RM500.

I found my lost camera picture taken from a VGA CMOS web camera (borrowed from my friend name Terry Lee from St. John Ins) which doesn’t have a memory card slot nor does it have a build in flash. You can only take 99 shorts before it runs out of memory space.

The most important thing now is that I found my old stash of files, music and pictures of my past.

Share with you some of the past time… Bare in mind I was young and dangerous back then. I’ve changed now….. wawawawaw…..

Wow...

Ya… it is always a surprise for me to see worshiper of younger generation worshiping God with the ability that God gave them. I was touch to see this seen when I jointed the youth group combine lasts Friday.

The ice-breaker was fun (I know la I’m a jakun that just come out from forest la…) and it takes group effort. Worship was superb for me. Why I say for me is not because the songs they play are good or the coordination is good but because I saw the talent that they had. They can play for other band or in pups but they choose to be in the worship team.

After the worship is a short message from Pastor Lisa herself about how wonderfully God has made us and made us not to fail but to be successful and ever reaching for greater heights. After that, we were all break up into groups to pray for the church to be strong and united always.

Most of my peers don’t choose to be in this kind of meeting according to them because of to big of a crowd (please it is just around 20++ youth), boring, no time, etc. But some how I just like mixing around people that are younger than me, not because I can bully (may be abit la.. Wawawawa.. ;P) them but to know and to understand them. (can understand my son and daughter in the future…)

The question of weather they accept me as their own or not are another story. I always believe that if there is willingness to open up to one another and to let go our experiences, ego and out smartness down (being stupid), surely there won’t be this thing call “generation gap”. But also as an adult (I know some of you might laugh at this.. you better watch out!!?!!) I must make sure they are “protected” and some time this can make them “small” and stay always from you.
