Fear, Ashamed, Rejection..

As human, I found out something that all of us human need (Well may be I’m not the 1st person that notices this, but I’ve and still learning from this):

Acceptance!!

Yes that is what every one are looking for, acceptance. Look around you, the things that people do. As a student you study to get accepted to further your studies/work. As a politician you do things so that it might benefit the majority which will gain the support (acceptance) of the people. We meet date lines so that our work can be accepted and not be rejected.

How??

What stair up this though in me in the week end was the experience on Easter Sunday morning; I was giving pamphlet around the Air Itam market area. The pamphlet is about the resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Why? Because there are many people out there in Penang that has not know of the truth and about Jesus. Oh boy.. The identity as a Christian that I was put to the test.

From the start, I was struggling to make the move. Just a morning greeting “Good Morning auntie, uncle and…” was hard for me. What more giving them the pamphlet that written “Jesus Christ, Rolls From The Death?” As I was giving out the pamphlet, I felt shamed and fear!! Yes I felt ashamed of the good news! Call me anything you want but yes, I was ashamed of the good news! To be more in-depth, I was afraid of rejection. I was afraid that people that I approach would not accept the pamphlet!

19We love each other[a] because he loved us first.

1 John 4:19 (NLT)

So now imagine Jesus walking on the streets that time on Palm Sunday, he was celebrated like a king a grand welcome into the city. And few days later it is this crown that welcome him in rejected him. That is not it; he has displayed the highest love for the people. He died for this people who persecute him to the cross!

19We, though, are going to love—love and be loved. First we were loved, now we love. He loved us first.

1 John 4:19 (The Message)

From this experience, I have put a new meaning to the phrase “love others as your self” Others here can mean people you know and people that you don’t know. For instance, the passer-by in the market, how to love them like Jesus love them? How to share the good news to them?

One thing I’ve learn is that they are not rejecting me but God. And despite these rejections that I (we) face, it should not be the reason that I (we) as Christian be sad about but to be ever more charge up for god by drawing power from him and to ever see the need in this people! It really made me think and reflect on how great God’s love for us.

I really thank God for this little angel whom God has made known to me! As this little has none stop encouraging me to grow in this area and to accept of who I’m from the start till now. Thank you angel and I thank God for dying on the cross for me. All Glory To God!!
