Gratitude?Where?

This week end I was very joyful as I could be back here for Passion Conference and above all meet my family, friends from church and to bless some of the friends who is coming down to KL. In whatever cases, as we bless our friends, you would give the best and as we bless our friends, you expect nothing in return, as much as it is said, as we bless our friends, we hope we are not been taken for granted thus not “being used” by them.

After blessing some one, there would be 2 groups of people, one group is where they would say “thanks” and another will just go their own way (in other words, taking your blessing for granted). Well bringing up this issue is not about “you want people to say Thank You”” But it’s about ethic (especially to the host mother who is standing there)! The effect would be; what others will thank of you! Or are you not an educated person that never been though by your parents about manner??

What would you do when you are face with these possibilities? Are we going to stop here to be kind to people? NO of cause not! As the Bible though us about good deeds, it goes hand in hand with our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Continue to do good as this is what the Lord tells us. “..To love our neighbour as ourselves..” We are saved because of our faith and through our faith we begin to do good deeds. And deeds are an Extension of what is happening inside us that is to worship God.

Well today’s massage shared by pastor has reminded me this, although it was not the topic that he shared but the bible is the living words which a double edge sword!

So now, how do we know which is good friend and which are the bad ones?

He reap what he sow

7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Galatians 6:7-8 NIV

Thus different can be seen by the word of their preaching and their actions. But as we look further,

9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Galatians 6:9-10 NIV

Just want to emphasise on the word gratitude in the Bible,

Ten Healed of Leprosy

11 As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. 12 As he entered a village there, ten lepers stood at a distance, 13 crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.”[a] And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. 15 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” 16 He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.[b]”

Luke 17:11-19 NLT
