Life of Sin Vs. Life of Righteousness

Like most of the Youth in church, it is hard growing up in the world that is broken where there is no absolute truth. It is even harder for me to not fall into the ways of the world as sin is always attractive and THE fastest way to solve a problem, but to follow the ways of the Lord. And I tell you I’ve fall and fall most of the time because I keep giving into sin by saying that “This will be the last time and I won’t do it again.” especially in the area of lust. Trust me it will never happen, the wanting keep coming and coming. Most often is telling lies. May be to your parents (I use to do that often because of getting poor result in exams in school last time). And by telling lies you must create more lies to cover the old lie. As a student we tend to cheat during test or exam. Let me tell you I’ve done all those. It does feel fun doing it at first but at a long run you will feel the pain. In Psalm 29:1 “A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed--without remedy.”

But when we choose the path of righteousness, it’ll surely pay off with greater blessing in our life. As we are faithful in shall things He will give us even greater things as the life of Joseph with full trust in the Lord. Some of us struggle by thinking what will happen to me next? For me I have the wanting to look into the future of my life. But why God don’t tell us? The reason is because he want us to relay on him every step of the way. Remember the song ‘Every step I make, I’ll make it in You’? that is how He want us to live our life. But why? Because in John 17:3 “3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” So that we might know Him well so that we would worship Him in spirit and in truth when we meet Him one day! In my life, I always face with choices that I have to make. For example what am I going to studies, how I spend my money and more. And often I stumble on this question “Is this God’s will for me?” In Roman 12:1-2 it says that God’s will is perfect (can’t be batter) for us all just that we have to seek and test it by “3…to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” to examine each motive behind each choice we make.

Remember in the Bible that Jesus is being tempted in the desert for 40days? Looking back at the 3rd temptation (Matt. 4:8-11) that Satan given to Jesus. Satan says that he would give the whole earth to Jesus if Jesus were to bow down to him. But knowing the Jesus is God and God created the whole world. Where is the temptation in that? And why would Satan make this kind of statement knowing that Jesus is God? The temptation was that Jesus was not going to be tempted by Satan. Because Jesus was God and Man at the same time. And because Man will be subjected to temptation. To relate to us, some time we think we are the son of God and we are immune to temptation. And there is where faith, prayer and knowing God’s word come into play.

I might be wrong in some thing that I’ve written. But I write this from my own experience so to share to you that you might know you are not alone. Jesus prayed for us all in the world in John 17:6-26. do pray that we all will have the HEART for Him and glorify His name!
