“Hello was blog hoping and stumble on your blog and some other of your BCM friends.. I’m no pastor nor expert but an ordinary student.
As human, we all have the nature of choosing a side, ether black or white. It is just us as we know what best to believe, to trust and to do for our own good. Agree?
But when come to my faith in Jesus the Son of God, the Holy Spirit and God the Father, is no more about us. It is God that we are dealing with. So as in the Bible says that out thought is not His, our ways is not His. So into understand who God is and how many God is there, we often try to put God into a box where we only want to view God in the way we want to view His as. Even worst is to “hear what only we want to hear” for Him.
Don’t get me wrong as we are asked to seek Him always. To study in-depth about God is not wrong! Remember the whole reason why God ask us to seek his will and understanding him (knowing that we can’t fully understand him) is so that we would stand in awe of his glory and his greatness and come to worship the Holy One! (May be I’m in a way, I’m try to put God in a box too… :P)
Why I’m bringing this up? To remind us all that as surely light is band in a body or water (Refraction) the culture that we are in now bands the truth. And as the lyric of the song sang by the group casting crowns it says “Jesus is the only way and we are not the only way to Jesus”
Ok this is the main point. Sorry for the side track as I believe you are becoming the leader of the church one day should know.(not to run the church your way but God’s way)
If we were to talk about the trinity, I guess it is fare to talk about “Freewill and Predestination”. :P
-I’m getting into very deep water now so please note me if I’m wrong-
Anyway the whole thing is do we take Christianity as a religion or as a Relationship with God?
In a religion, one will have a set of rules and regulation to follow in order to be accepted by God. And if one break the rule they are cut off from the people (like in the OT).
In a relationship, there will still have rules and regulation. But the different is that one will trust fully (having faith) on the other parties. And if Christianity is a relationship, we know that God is almighty, why can’t we just believe that God is mysterious, along with choice He made for us for us as his children? By faith!! Read what my friend wrote.
*even by faith, it doesn’t stop us to understand God fully with our limited mind.”
